My Pride My Folly by Suzanne Butler 1953 Vintage Book

Description

Two years before he laid eyes on her, Micheal Shea believed he knew exactly how Kirstina's marriage had been arranged. She had been then only fourteen, but she had a dowry of ten thousand kroner, which could be translated into American money at roughly five thousand dollars.

The man named Aage Nordrupp was a well-to-do innkeeper from Boston. He took passage on the ship commanded by Michael's uncle with the intention of revisiting his village in North Jutland to pick himself out a wife.

My Pride My Folly is an excellent addition to your vintage historical fiction collection or home library.
