Black Labrador and Puppy Rochard Limoges Box

A grown black Labrador keeps watch over a small puppy in this warm little Rochard scene. Both dogs are modeled in porcelain and hand-painted in Limoges, France, their glossy black coats the focus of the design.

Big Dog, Little Shadow

Labradors are famous for their patience, and Rochard shows that side of the breed here, with an older dog and a pup sharing the same spot. It is the kind of moment every Lab owner has watched from the couch. Each pair is painted by hand, so the sheen on the black coats varies a little from one box to another.

When the Family Grows

Many owners choose this box when a second dog joins the household, or when their own Lab has a litter. It is also a thoughtful present for a breeder, a veterinarian or a friend who just brought home a black puppy. On a desk, a side table or a mudroom shelf, it fits right into a home where the leash hangs by the door.

As a memorial piece, it can hold a collar tag from a much-loved older dog.
